Live Radley! (A Poem)
Live as radley as can be,
conquer your dreams,
be what you be.
Smile to the world,
and see what you see.
Dive to depths
greater than you can view.
Open your heart,
see what you can do.
File your truths
in front of your lies.
Don’t wonder in death
who testified.
Be free to dream—
remarkable in sleep.
Unconscious thoughts,
a life complete.
Tonight be free
to do as you please.
Dance in crowds
be still as can be.
Sing a song—
a bird in the trees.
A lion on the prowl
watch out for the sneeze.
On the beasts
that burden the souls
of those who died
to save other’s lives.
It’s a song
to be sung,
a voice so finely
tuned to the strings of life.
Forever sitting
in the heat of battle,
within the confines
of the bottomless well.
Forever free falling—
forever alone.
